Donning and doffing aids
Proper technique and the right donning aid can make a big difference. Start with the simplest solution and find the option that works best for you.
Choose the description that sounds most like you. We'll take you straight to the aid that fits.
1Step one — start here
If you can reach your feet but need better grip and control, gloves are the simplest place to start. Both pairs come in four sizes — the difference is the material.
They are also the least expensive aid on this page, and they help protect garments that cost many times more — fingernails and jewelry are what cause most runs and snags. Choose a size and add a pair below.
Maximum grip
$8.61 $10.76 Save $2.15
Contains natural rubber latex. If you have a latex sensitivity or allergy, choose the Latex-Free Donning Gloves.
For sensitive skin and latex allergies
$7.65 $9.56 Save $1.91
Contains no natural rubber latex.
A donning aid does most of the work, but how you handle the garment matters just as much.
Grip the fabric, don't pull the top band
Gloves let you hold the fabric itself, so you can distribute it evenly along the leg instead of tugging from the top.
Smooth out wrinkles as you go
Work in short sections and even out the fabric before moving up the leg, rather than adjusting everything at the end.
Protect the garment
Fingernails and jewelry cause most runs and snags. Gloves help prevent them and extend the life of your compression.
Every step above is easier with gloves on — from $7.65.
Step-by-step videos for the Doff N’ Donner system and MELANY are further down this page, and our team is happy to walk you through any device — expert online chat support is available.
2Step two — more assistance
If gloves aren't enough, the Doff N’ Donner is a two-piece system: the Cone loads your garment onto the Rolly, and the Rolly guides it on and off your leg or arm.
Buy the system together. $110.56 $133.20
Your first time using the Doff N’ Donner Rolly and Cone might feel a bit tricky. But stick with it and you’ll be a pro in no time — you’ll wonder what you ever did without it.
The two-minute walkthrough shows the whole sequence: loading the stocking onto the Rolly with the Cone, then rolling it on and off the leg.

Caution: The Doff N’ Donner Cone contains natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.
Add gloves to the system. As Donna A. notes below, gloves are a help alongside the cone — no more struggling to get a hold of the material to straighten it out. From $7.65.
Shop donning gloves“This made putting the socks on and off so much easier, then we got the cone which made it even better. The time and effort was cut in half or better. The gloves were also helpful. No more struggling to get a hold of the material to straighten it out.”
“Having the doffer/donner sleeve and cone makes putting on and taking off my mom’s compression socks a breeze! Those that have some problems with the sleeve, I suspect are not also using the cone.”
“Ingenious and priceless! As an intensive caregiver who uses many medical devices, I was skeptical of one that appeared so simple to use. I am so grateful to the inventor of this little miracle device!”
Buying the two together saves 10%.
