To machine wash, turn your garments inside out and place them in a mesh laundry bag. Use the gentle cycle and warm (not hot) water. Use a gentle detergent. We suggest Sigvaris Washing Solution. Do not use bleach or fabric softeners. You can air dry or tumble dry on a low heat setting. If you want to take extra care of your garments, wash by hand and air dry.

It stands for millimeters of mercury (per square inch). It is a unit of measurement for pressure applied to a surface. Compression stockings have 100% of the stated compression directly above the ankle. The pressure lessens as you go up the leg which creates the graduation in pressure. This helps prevent swelling and fluid retention in the legs.

Compression garments with 30-40mmHg or higher are widely accepted as eligible for HSA or FSA. Keep in mind, due to regulations in how this purchase is processed, not all retailers accept HSA/FSA cards for payment. This site does not accept HSA/FSA cards, but you can submit your receipt of purchase at your plan administrator's web site for reimbursement. 

A prescription is not required to purchase compression garments in the United States.

However, there are circumstances in which you may need a prescription to submit to your insurance company to document your medical need and increase your chances for reimbursement. Compression stockings are not always covered by insurance.

Choosing a level of compression too strong may have medical consequences for certain individuals.  There are contraindications for wearing compression. Seek medical advice before purchasing compression levels 30-40mmHg or higher.
